Cell manufacturing
Keeping control of a PV cell production process can be complicated. Lot and batch sizes can change throughout the process as the cells are moved from one type of carrier to another. Using a MES solution with only lot tracking functionality makes finding the root causes of quality problems very difficult. The Prediktor Solar MES solution’s single wafer tracking functionality makes such tasks simple.
Optimization example Optimization of the saw-damage etching/acid texturing process is very important for producing high quality cells, as this process step has an impact on both wafer breakage rates and cell efficiencies. This can be a difficult process step to control correctly. Thickness removed from wafers is affected by factors such as acid solution concentration, bath temperature and conveyor belt speed.
Using the single wafer tracking functionality of Prediktor Solar MES, it is easy to correlate the thickness removed in the etching step, with the cell efficiencies measured at the end of the production process even if the cells are moved between different types of carriers and buffers within the production lines. Thickness removed can also easily be correlated with acid bath composition, bath temperature and conveyor belt speed, thereby giving users the information they need to successfully optimize and control this important process step.
Important functionality Other important functionalities for cell manufacturing include:
• Downtime reporting Use information gathered in our automatic reports to increase uptime of wet benches, printing lines and other equipment.
• Real-time and historical SPC Help your operators keep the production under control and your engineers to find and correct process deviations.
• Recipe management Reduce human error and increase production time by automatically setting correct equipment recipes.
• Automatic production, KPI and shift reports
• Communication Integrate with company ERP, Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) or other 3rd party solutions, allowing access to production data from these solutions.
